At the start of the new year I was focused on creating a simpler life, getting rid of all our junk. Well today, for Tackle It Tuesday, I finally made a step towards that goal. I finally put some organization into my life, in hopes to make it simpler!
This is how it began, I dumped the contents of these 2 baskets into a box. These 2 baskets were the equivalent of our junk drawer, since we have 3 drawers total in our kitchen!
And here is that box of junk!
And this is how it's now organized... impressive, I know. This is an old shoe hanger that was taking up space and I hung it on the coat closet we have on our main floor. I found some scrapbooking tags that I then used my handy dandy labeler to label the pockets contents. Cool isn't it. In this holds all the stuff you never know where to put, you know the phone charger, batteries, misc keys, tape, some of the kids art supplies, digital camera chargers, etc.
I wish I could take credit for this idea, but I can't and for the life of me I can't remember which blog I saw this on. If it was yours please let me know and I will give total props.
Here are some other things I organized as well. This is a top shelf in my kitchen, it used to hold bottles and bottles of medication and misc first aid supplies, for when we needed it downstairs, since we only have one bathroom (which is obviously upstairs). Now when you got to get the ibuprofen or a band aid you don't get showered with miscellaneous things falling on your head!
This is the similar idea in our bathroom. I already had this drawer in the cabinet, but it was never organized and you always had to rummage through all 3 drawers to find what you were looking for, now it is much easier to get at what you want.
